Bleh I am at a part of my story that I don't really want to write. Not because I am lazy just because it is emotionally hard to write I guess i will have to comfort myself with little debbie and then take the dog for a run after I pound out this chapter.

Com one home!
woot reached 5000 words and finished a chapter!
Bell got out of the taxi and took a deep breath finally feeling safe at home. The smell of flowers filled her senses and the sun beating down on her warmed her skin as the joy filled her body. She was home! She walked up the path savoring each step and letting her body start to relax. She put her key in the lock and opened the door to the familiar squeak as the pin grinded against the hinge. There are few things that Bell loved more than this house. As she pressed the door open she saw her sister bounding out of the kitchen. “BELLY!” She screeched as she rushed towards Bell. Bell hated the name Belly. It was a nickname she had gotten when she was in college and had spent more time studying than working out. Her sister had adopted it because she couldn’t stand the shortened Bell. Mea was short like Bell, a blond unlike Bell’s long brown hair and she had green eyes that their mother use to joke where brown before mea spent so much time playing in the grass. She was wearing her usual shorts and tank top. Mea gave her a huge hug almost crushing her ribs with her enthusiasm. “I missed you! I know it has only been two days but it seems like forever. Did you have a good trip? Did you kill anyone?” Bell set her luggage down inside the door and placed her keys in the bowl on the side table in the entryway. She pumped lotion from the glass bottle labeled ‘Freedom’ also on the table, and rubbed it into her hands and especially over the ring on her left hand. She slid it off and placed it on the ring holder next to her sisters. Here at home she could be herself. No lies, no pitch and no heels. Bell made a face as she stepped out of her heels. “No I didn’t kill anyone this time. Only one guy tried to molest me: the ring works again! The trip was nice I met a nice man who drove me to the airport. He was delicious to look at tall, dark, and handsome, the whole package.” Mea frowned and eyed her sister, “He make the pass at you?” Bell looked down at the mail stacked on the table and flipped through it. Several bills, some junk mail and a letter with no return address. Bell couldn’t decide what was more odd; the fact that someone still used the mail system instead of beaming it to her phone or that there wasn’t a return address. She set it down and looked at it and answered her sister almost absentmindedly. “No he didn’t. He very kindly gave me a ride after the guy who was suppose to got locked in a closet with handcuffs.” Mea’s eyes widened. Her sister was susceptible to passes because she was just so good looking and she practically exhaled pheromones with every breath that passed her perfect full lips. Mea had always felt bad for her sister, it must be difficult to always have men see your body and sex appeal without seeing the sweet sister inside. She had given a few guys heart attacks but never locked one in a closet before. Four years ago she had a horrible encounter with a man and had started wearing the ring once she got out of the hospital. She had gone to a jeweler and gotten one for herself and one for Mea. She had said it was to ward off men but Bell wore hers like a shield. And like a good soldier behind the shield was a sword that Bell would bury deep into the heart of any man who tried to get pass her defenses. Mea had watched Bell slowly soften over the last few years. They had moved away from their old town were everyone knew what happened to Bell and came here. Bell had started a new job and Mea had finished school at the university here, and then started her tour of the world. She worked when she needed to so she could keep exploring different cultures and places. Her sister had kept close tabs on her. Bell had the most developed network of information any non-government person could have legally. Though some of her contacts might occasionally cross the line, Bell didn’t ask questions as long as she could keep an eye on Mea and vet the people who came in contact with her. As Mea traveled and met people she would get messages when one of them was involved in shady dealings. Mea didn’t mind that her sister kept tabs on her, mea understood it was the only way Bell could sleep at night. She knew her sister had paid a man to follow her over the world, in fact she even knew who it was, and he was cute. Mea’s mind drifted as she remembered her last days in Egypt before she came home. The hot days had only gotten hotter at night when she was wrapped around him. They had kissed goodbye at the airport and that had been it.
Bell glanced at Mea again, knowing that her mind was somewhere around the world she lugged her suitcase upstairs and unpacked. As she tucked all her clothes away in her closet and drawers she opened her top drawer and fingered the tattered shirt she kept there to remind her. As the soft cotton brushed against her fingers she closed her eyes and let the memory sweep through her.

Bell got out of the car and laughed as she realized she still wasn’t wearing shoes. That would take care of having to take them off for the security check. Brian was polite enough to park in the hour parking so she didn’t have to juggle all her stuff at the curb. He opened the trunk and noticed her bare feet as she walked up to him. “Well that’s one way to do it.” His arm flexed and he pulled her suitcase out of his trunk. “Do you have another pair in here?” Bell raised her eyes from his nicely sculpted arm and laughed mentally cataloging her suitcase and what shoes were closest to the top. A maniacal grin spread across her lips and she unzipped the outer pocket and lifted out a pair of black stilettos. “Just my work shoes.” Bell bent over giving Brian a nice view of her curves then stepped into her shoes gaining four inches and bringing her up to eye level with Brian who looked like he wasn’t going to be standing for much longer. “You poor thing bringing me out here when you don’t feel so good. Thank you so much.” Brian was a little lightheaded but it didn’t have much to do with his lingering cold and more to do with wondering what kind of work she did in those shoes.
Brian watched Bell walk away towards the terminals and enjoyed the retreating view. He turned back to his car thinking how the goods ones are always taken. He got behind the wheel and drove home thinking all the while about how interesting Bell had been and how much he had enjoyed chatting with her. It was a treat to be attracted to a woman, have her know it and there be no pressure at all. The pleasant memory soothed him as he got home and collapsed into bed to get some much needed sleep before he went back work in four hours.

Reasons not to write
This is a response to Hannah over at Mostly True Stories from a Real live Grownup. Check her out at: http://livingpalindrome.blogspot.com
It's NaNoWriMo (NaNoWriMo.org) so sit down and write your novel already. Mine isn't really moving along very quickly but I have hope.
1. You can watch movies and TV on itunes or hulu.com. Both are a fab way to avoid the reality blaring behind you.
2. I hate my Main Character (she is getting on my last nerve)
3. The 'J' key on my keyboard sticks
4. Facebook has games and my (fluff)Friend is almost uber!!
5. My screen is too big so i fill it with other windows and they keep distracting me
6. I have to help Hannah move into her gym
7. It's Friday and God doesn't like you to write on Fridays
Okay I whined now I have to go write

Going Vegetarian
At a recent doctors appointment my doctor gave me the news that my headaches are being caused by my meat consumption. After I stopped laughing at him, he explained that it is why I am having so many health problems and why I am fighting so hard to lose weight and going uphill with no results. I protested that I rarely eat red meat and mostly eat chicken, which is supposed to be better for you. He was not swayed by what I thought was a perfectly logical argument. He then suggested that I cut out caffine, white flour, white sugar and white rice out of my diet to which I responded with that I was white so white food should be just fine! Again he was not moved by my heartfelt argument. I then tried to convince him that this was not healthy to which he stared me down and very calmly told me to cut the bull from my argument and my diet and stick to a diet that is primarily fruits and vegetables. Scale back my meat consumption to once or twice a month and to not overindulge. He suggested I google recipes and sent me on the way telling me I would be much happier.
So I went home and googled it. It was overwhelming. The primary site it sent you to and that most vegans recommend is goveg.com. While this is a good site is overwhelming with the anti meat campaigns. It is run by PETA and while I agree with the idea of not abusing animals and treating them fairly, I find PETA too in your face for me. I acknowledge there is a problem I just don’t need my kids to walk by and see an animal being tortured if I click on the wrong link. The site did offer me a link to vegan recipes, which exclude all animal products, and were not particularly yummy. My kids were not interested. Unfortunately not one ofthem told me how to balance this nutritionally for my kids and me. I spent a week constantly eating veggies and fruits and never feeling full I was miserable I couldn’t sleep through the night and I was starting to fantasize about a hamburger. At a community event at our preschool a well-known Vegetarian Mom saw me looking miserable and staring longingly at a hot dog and asked me what was wrong. I told her my sad story and how hungry I was and she explained to me about complete proteins and how to make them and add them to my diet. I could have kissed her. She emailed me a list of nutritional information on how to eat meat free without being vegan. She still eats eggs and dairy. I was so grateful. I went home and made a dinner for my family with the white bean hummus recipe on page 3, and everyone slept through the night and their behavior improved.

The Vote
Wow. no matter how many times I read it or hear it, I still get chills when I hear Obama is our next president. This election was so fabulous. Even though the candidates were very strong for their parties people voted what they felt was their issues. There were Hillary supporters for McCain, conservatives for Obama, Democrats for Palin. It was crazy, and interesting, and emotional and I loved it! I cried when they announced Obama won. It was incredible and I am excited to live in an election where we can change!

Just what I needed
We got two new pets. Dogs. not puppies but not quite adults either. they are in that awkward stage where they are happy to lie around all day but they still want to chew your shoes. They are taking pretty well to their training except for the eating things. In the past I have had very pleasant small dogs. Cocker spaniel, terrier, i even wanted a Chiwawa for awhile there. I love the idea of a purse dog and thought it would be fun to have something i could dress up and carry around with me. It could have a sparkly collar and leash (that it would never use because i would always be carrying it. Does that make you nuts? Seeing those twix (that is what i call thin beautiful women) carrying those dogs around makes me want to scream put the thing down it has legs let him use them!!! I don't scream it, but i do turn to whoever I am with and very loudly say 'It's a shame that she is abusing that dog he never walks.' I did this once with my goddess sister Loyal and she gave me a look. though she has known me long enough that i think she just takes two steps back and pretends she doesn't know me. Good call there though I would probably egg me on I can see how other people don't want to start drama. i once had my Sissy tell me about some chick I had antagonized, 'Bec! She knows gang members!!' Like i care I live in Pomona my peeps be rolling harder than hers. Wow that sounded alot cooler in my head. I guess the morale of this story is that i am a bully and i don't back down.) I could get it a little pink purse (lost? i am talking about the purse dog) and I would call it Smooches or maybe Hank depending on if it was shivering all the time or not.
When my mom took on a friends of mines' dogs i thought they were really big dogs. they are a chocolate lab and a chow mix. Then Beauty and the Beast came into my life. Nope I didn't name them that, they came with those names wich we changed because i am not calling that terrified dog that is afraid of my two year old beast. I refuse. When My partner and i were talking about taking them home i said they are probably going to have stupid names like taco and bell or dip and dive and i was right!
Shit i have to go pick up the kids and i lost my keys ....
